Apple iPad 6th Gen & Microsoft Surface Go Comparison

Microsoft launched the new Surface Go Windows tablet this week and, the newest entrant to the Surface family is about to shake up the tablet market. It includes a 10-inch screen, an integrated kickstand, Windows 10, and a design identical to the Surface Pro. Microsoft put the base price of $399, which will certainly change the tablet market which has seen Apple’s iPad dominance for years. If you are kind of confused to choose, we have a quick comparison between the Apple iPad 6th Gen & Microsoft Surface Go:

The Microsoft Surface Go is powered by a 7th-gen Intel Pentium Gold processor, which is not the latest and is definitely underpowered. Other than that, there are two RAM variants, a model with 4GB of RAM, and the other with 8GB of RAM.

The Apple iPad 6th Gen is powered by the Apple A10 Fusion chip, which has much more refined in terms of performance over the past year. In this, there is only a single option of 2GB RAM, which is enough to handle the iOS apps on the tablet.

Design and Build Quality

Microsoft Surface Go is designed to be used primarily as a laptop, which doubles up as a tablet as well. This is possible by the integrated kickstand along with the well thought out keyboard and mouse experience. The device offers a seamless experience for users who want to make the best of it with its accessories. The tablet mode is designed pretty well and should be easy to rest in one hand while operating it with another.

While both the displays are pretty good to see, the iPad’s one is definitely sharper, all thanks to the higher resolution.

In this department, the Surface Go really excels. The Apple iPad 6th Gen has an only  3.5mm jack and a lightning port for charging which supports the company’s proprietary accessories. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Go has a USB-C 3.1 port for fast and easy transfer of data along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
