The Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro announced in China earlier today along with Mi Pad 4 tablet. Xiaomi with Redmi 6 pro brings the notch era in the budget smartphones which is a hate or a non-hate call among the users but thankfully it can be hidden with the black bars from the settings menu to give a uniform look.
The Redmi 6 pro has an almost identical design with the company’s earlier launched device in the year which is the Redmi Note 5 Pro except the notch placed on the front. Talking about the display which is going to be in the highlight in this price bracket smartphones, it features a display of 5.84-inch Full HD+(1080×2280 pixels) panel with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The company claims that the panel is capable of reproducing NTSC color gamut of 84%.
The device has a dual SIM support, however, it is not a hybrid slot as the SIM tray has three different slots for two SIM cards and a microSD card.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC (octa-core) clocked at 2.0 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU for the graphics. The device packs up a RAM up to 4GB with a internal storage of up to 64GB. The storage can also be expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB. Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro announced runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The device comes in three variants listed below:
- 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM: CNY 999 (approx. Rs. 10,400)
- 4GB RAM + 32 GB ROM: CNY 1,199 (approx.Rs. 12,500)
- 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM: CNY 1,299 (approx. Rs. 13,600)
The device packs up a dual rear camera setup with 12MP primary shooter having 1.25-micron size pixels and f/2.2 aperture + a secondary lense of 5MP. The secondary camera is also a 5MP shooter with Xiaomi’s custom beautification mode. The Redmi pro 6 features an AI-assisted Portrait mode for both the rear & front cameras and a scene detection toll too. The AI technology will also take care of the device security in Face Unlocking authentication purposes.
The device packs up a massive 4,000mAh battery with the support of fast charging (5V/2A). It also features an IR blaster at the top which allows the device to function as a remote controller for other devices. The company claims that the IR blaster supports 14 types of equipment from over 2,000 brands.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro announced in China will be available starting June 26 and is expected to launch soon in India although there is no official announcement on when it will be.
